Author’s notes: Ok. I am writing a star ocean fanfic this time. I got the idea from reading around on the wiki and thought that I could totally make a story out of the whole idea of the Lycanthropes in the game. I will use the characters from The Last Hope.
This is the dictionary entry:
Lycanthrope:
An extremely rare race of individuals in which ordinary human cells and Beastfolk cells that have been transformed by a special virus coexist in the same body. The human and Beastfolk cells in a Lycanthropes's body will expand or contract when the heart rate exceeds a certain threshold. As a result, the Lycanthrope's external appearance will appear to undergo a transformation.
Although there are some exceptions, a Lycanthrope's body will become more solid and powerful when the Beastfolk cells are in the expanded state. There are many different Lycanthrope bloodlines, including those related to wolves, bears, tigers, dogs, rats, boars, and other animals. It should be noted that the legends about Lycanthropes transforming after viewing the full moon, or about the Lycanthrope's invulnerably to all weapons save those made of silver, are nothing more than superstitions.

Chapter 1: Wilderness wanderings
Location: Sector Theta, Roak, Muah Continent: Uncharted Forest
Time: around 5:00 pm
Party members: King Kobra, Astral, Barian Space Police Force, Dr. Evil, Baste with Paste Alliance, Gary Ketchum, Bronk Pegasus, Ice Make Dragneel, Sasuke Sheifa Beleth, Don Zorc Over-Nine-Thousand
(author’s note my friend, kaworu-shinji thought it would be funny to make some additions… And it was, so I left it in. The real party members are Faize and Edge and maybe some other people… why did I even add this :/ )
Faize and Edge were gathering food for the rest of the party, though it seemed like it was slim pickings in this area. It seemed like all of the animals had eaten all of the edible plants and had moved on.
“Edge maybe we should go…”
Edge put a finger over his lips. “Hush. Listen closely, Faize. Do you hear that?”
A faint gushing sound could be heard to the north of them. There must be a stream nearby. Crickets were chirping and birds could be heard in the distance.
“All I hear are the crickets.” Faize said. He was curious as to what Edge was getting at.
“Don’t you hear the water, Faize? Animals need it to drink just as much as humanoids do. We should find the it’s source. There may be animals resting there that we can bring back to the rest of the gang.”
“Edge you’re brilliant!” Faize hugged his friend tightly and gave him a quick peck on the cheek.
Edge blushed profusely and pushed him away. “Faize what are you doing?”
“Isn’t this how Earthlings show affection for each other?”
“Well yes, but…”
“I am showing you how much I care about you, Edge.”
“I don’t deserve your kindness, Faize. I really haven’t done anything praiseworthy.”
“Oh no, Edge. That isn’t true at all! You have taught me so many things, and inspired me to become who I am today.”
“We haven’t known each other for more than a few years, Faize.”
“But it feels like we have been friends since childhood. I can honestly say that I truly care about you. I would die if anything ever happened to you.”
“But…”
“I don’t want to argue about this. I really care about you. Is there anything wrong with that?”
“Well, yeah. You invaded my personal space without even asking my permission.”
“I didn’t realize you had to ask permission to care about someone!”
Faize’s eyes turned from purple to crimson, a sure sign that he was upset and angry. Edge didn’t care though, he just wanted some space right now and the Eldarian just wasn’t giving it to him.
“Faize, just leave me alone!” Edge cried.
Tears began streaming down the Eldarian’s face as he ran off into the woods towards the running water. He ran as fast as he could, not caring about the branches scratching his face as he rushed past. He was so busy crying he did not notice the menacing growls behind him.

Ok. This was made with some advice from kaworu-shinji who was with me when I made this. I made this especially for him because we are playing Star ocean: the last hope together and he is a huge faize fan. I will hopefully be continuing this, as I have an idea of where this story is going to go right now (for once). I just hope I don't write myself into a corner.
